Surrounded and influenced by the magnificent fine arts of Italy, Renata Spiazzi learned to appreciate painting, sculpture, music and the performing arts. Today she is versatile and prolific, with soul in her art and is a renowned painter, sculptor and graphic artist.
Her education and art experiences span two continents. She studied drawing at the Scuola Professionale Salvator Rosa in Naples, Italy, also at the Scuola di Disegno CIMS in Trieste Italy. Upon graduation she worked in advertising at the Unione Pubblicita' Italiana in Trieste.
Seeking a new adventure of creative pursuits, Renata Spiazzi arrived in the United States in 1952; continued her education at the San Diego Community Colleges and received the California Community Colleges Certificate of Qualification for Teachers of Classes for Adults, a teaching credential valid for life. Simultaneously she worked on commissions and taught drawing, painting, sculpture and graphic arts at the SDCC.Like a true professional she continues her art studies and returns to Europe quite frequently to visit foundries, quarries, art schools, museums and cathedrals.
Keeping up with modern technology, Renata has been investigating the possibilities of the Computer in Art and is now using it in all the planning and often in her finished work.
Her current professional affiliations include the San Diego Museum of Art Artist's Guild, the San Diego Art Institute, Sculpture International, National Sculpture Society, San Diego Computer Society, the Society of Experimental Artists, the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, Siggraph, and the International Association of Fine Art Digital Printmakers.
Renata Spiazzi's works of art have been displayed in private collections throughout the United States, Mexico and Europe and on permanent display in the New York Public Librarys permanent archives.
