Emerging artist with impactant colors that create beauty and provoke emotion and joy. Lamas is carachterized for his use of materials and various techniques as is: chrome, stainless steel or wood, with acrylic enamel paints and automobile paints. He also creates etchings on metal with different types of drill bits.

Edgar Lamas was born in México City and he lived in Guayamas, Sonora until age 10 when his family moved to Tijuana and has lived there ever since. He studied in Tijuana to be a lawyer besides studiying two years of business administration. After practicing law for two years, his artistic sense became stronger, so he decided to make a big career change, dedicating himself to high quality furniture design. His clients being renowned architects in San Diego. His artistic career has been self-taught and he has developed his furniture design practice using diffent materials and his curiosity has lead him to apply different techniques and disciplines which he has been exploring, experimenting, developing and improving over the years.

In his exhibition, “”INOX” in addition to handling the color with great mastery and an absolute sensation of freedom, he uses a wide spectrum of colors in order to create something emotive and vibrant. He also creates works in in diverse shades of pearls.
He has a clear intention that his works not be static but that they may be appréciated
from different angles, creating different affects depending on the light.

Lamas participated in various exhibitions in Tijuana, most recently October/November 2005 in the Casa de Cultura in Playas de Tijuana (IMAC).
