Expressions of Mexico Gallery is the realization of
a dream that started many years ago. Dr.Carmen E. Velazquez C. is the founder and Director. “Since I was young I always felt admiration and love for fine art, folk art, traditions and culture, in general, of my native country, Mexico”.
Mexico is a great mosaic of color, beauty comprised and traditions. Each state has its own expression of folk art, food, music, dress, etc. that makes them so fascinating and the whole country unique.
“When I was young and started my idea to sell and promote “beautiful things” made in Mexico, my idea was not very clear. However, over the years the dream was given shape and after living here in San Diego, California for many years and meeting many great artists, I felt that authentic fine art and folk art from Mexico was exactly what I wanted to promote and sell”.

Without any hesitation, I chose the “Great Barrio Logan”, the Mexican Barrio, situated only two minutes west from the 5 freeway and only three minutes south east from the Convention Center and only one minute from the biggest art gallery in the United States, the “Historical Chicano Park”. What other location could be better for a Mexican fine art gallery?”
